M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S, From The Roberts

Christmas, ever since I was little, is my Second favorite Holiday. (My birthday being the first favorite holiday;) obviously) As I am getting older I find myself more excited to shop and give.

We have been busy all during the month of December with fun activities and just spending time with our families.

We made it to the Pickleville's Playhouse Play (a Roberts tradition) Christmas with Juanito Bandito. It was so funny as always and we loved it! Thanks Jen for taking us, we love you!

We had the Roberts Christmas
Party on Monday, at Kadens aunt Luara's house. We stayed late and had so much fun laughing and giggling at our photo booth pictures and playing games.

Look how cute these two are:) Grandma and Grandpa Roberts. So glad they made here all the way from St. George.

Christmas Eve we had with the Blotters and later with my parents.

Some Exciting News!

Kaden and I have been on a hunt to find a home to buy for the past couple months. We started looking into buying vs building and have made a decision together to build! We couldn't be more happier! The process has been smooth so far but I thought I would blog about it to keep those who care in the loop.

We found a lot in Weston, ID (where Kaden grew up and his parents live). As much as I would love the credit for finding our lot, that's entirely untrue. Misty, Kaden's aunt, is a realtor (the best one ever;) ) she gets all the credit! Thanks Misty, we really LOVE you!

We are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together. So far it has been fun. Kaden and I have disagreed on maybe two things so far. But we are really good at compromising;) that I am certainly thankful for! I have had so many people comment that "if you can build a house and stayed married you are doing good". We are doing great!

After 4 tries we finally have the floor plan I want. It honestly was the hardest part, so far! I felt like I was being super picky, which is true, I was. But it all worked out. The owner of Sierra Homes is awesome! He has been so good to us and does everything he can to get us what we want. I am so thankful we chose to build with him and his team.

Last week we did our color selection with one of his fabulous Designers, Mandy. Lover her! She was so helpful. She made picking things out 10x easier.

So our start date is January 6th and our finish date is April 4th but, depending on how the weather is, we are shooting for the end of April at the latest.

As much as I would love to spill all the details I am going to to save a lot for the last, but I will be posting about all this fun stuff over the next 4 months. So check back for more updates on the progress of our home:)

Family Night!

The past few months for me has been a real eye opener! Most of you that know me know that I never really saw eye to eye with my parents the last few years of living at home. With that being said I can't tell you how much I have learned about just how important family really is. My mom, bless her heart, still calls me nearly everyday sometimes just to ask me how my day is. I really do take her for granted sometimes. My siblings beg to come hang out with me and Kaden basically everyweeked. They seriously think my husband is the coolest person to ever exist (can't say I disagree with them;) )  I love my siblings more than they will probably ever realize.

I can't help but to smile thinking of all the fun we times we have had with them lately. It is so bitter-sweet for me, they are growing up so fast but it's fun to see their personalities grow with them.

With all the Craziness going on in December we managed to squeeze in a night with my family. We made Gingerbread houses for the first time ever, that I can remember. It was so much fun! We loved it.

Love these hooligans!

We hope everyone is having a good December so far! Christmas is coming fast. It will be here before we know it! We are even keeping track with this cute guy!  13 days and counting :)

Chalkboard Art

I am really getting into this chalkboard art stuff! I have seen it all over Pinterest (I'm overly addicted to that website).  About a year ago Kaden made me this chalkboard and up until today I haven't even touched it. But that is all about to change because I LOVE it!

My first piece of art.

I struggled a little at first but I am starting to get the hang of it. I can't help but to smile every time I walk past it :)

There is ALWAYS something to be Thankful for

I came across this saying on Pinterest a couple weeks ago and fell in love! Sometimes in this crazy thing called life we can get so caught up and forget to take a minute and be greatful for what we have. I have to admit I am definitely guilty of this! I often over look the fact that we have cars that get us to and from work or wherever we need to be. Or that we have food to eat and a roof over our heads. I am thankful for Family, I have learned just how important Family can be in the past few months and it has strengthened me in ways I never thought possible. I am very thankful for the Gospel, without it I would be lost in this world. Most of all I am thankful for my Husband! The love I have for him is more than I ever thought possible. I really can't imagine my life with him. (a little mushy? I know, but it's so true!)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

I've recently joined the world of people who start decorating for Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving. It's so bad! I kept telling myself "let's just get through thanksgiving and then we can put up the tree" well, I FAILED. Tonight I made Honemade Chicken Noodle Soup (minus the noodles! I am not that ambitious;) we'll stick with store bought for now) and we broke out the boxes of Christmas decor! Can I just say how much I Love Christmas? I love decorating for the Holidays, hot cocoa, shopping, getting to wear scarves and boots, Family Parties and snuggling on the couch with like 5 blankets! I am a blanket lover! Hence the overflowing basket of blankets we have:) (if you have ever been to our house I'm sure you know what I'm talking about!)

I think every year we have been married I've decorated our tree different! I can't help but want to change it up every year. This year I we did burlap! And by WE I mean I did all the work while Kaden put minimal effort into watching me decorate it.

So here it is!

Jackson Hole

We had so much fun in Jackson Hole we were sad to go! We stayed at the Parkway Inn. It was so cute! Here's a picture of it.
We did lots of walking around to look at all the shops they have. Kaden was in heaven seeing all the antlers and deer, elk and moose statues/mounts. We went to Ripleys Believe it or Not that we just happen to find when we were walking around.

Worlds biggest Cigar!

This train was made entirely of match sticks.

Wedding dress made out of toilet paper.

There was 4 of these long walls covered with belt buckles. Kinda cool!

Shopping in Jackson

This hat was only $400!

Of course we had to get our picture by the Antler Arch.

Thomas Eddison hanging out on a bench :)

And my favorite picture... :)

Did I mention I'm obsessed with Moose?

So far we have loved Jackson Hole! The first time we came together was three years ago for my families summer vacation. Crazy to think that was really three years ago! While shopping today Kaden spotted this Moose Nativity. I know:) I even tried to tel myself I didn't need it but Kaden insisted we get it and I wasn't going to argue with that;) look at the baby one!
Thanks babe! I can't wait to get home to set it up:)

We've been waiting for this trip since June and it's finally here! Headed to Jackson Hole for a 3 day getaway/very late anniversary trip! Couldn't be more excited to spend some time with that sweet hubby of mine. More pictures to come;)

10 Things you may or may not know about Me

1. I LOVE just about anything with Peanut Butter.

2. I secretly love listening to books on CD. I have never been a book reader!

3. I think its safe now to admit that I fell in Love with my mother-in-law before my husband. (she was like a mother I never had! I do love my own mom just so were clear on that.) Sorry Kaden!

4. It's hard for me to FORGIVE people. Once you've done me wrong I want nothing to do with you. (Something I am working on!)

5. I always feel the need to buy a new pair of shoes. It drives my husband crazy at times.

6. I would do anything for my siblings. Even if it meant I had to give my own life. I love them like they are my own.

7. My dream job would be an Interior Designer. I have a passion for it!

8. I worry too much about things I can't control.

9. I am deathly afraid of snakes, spiders and grasshoppers. Life would be so much better without them.

Latest Addiction

Let me just start by saying, I suck at blogging. I always tell my self I'm going to post at least once a week. Yeah, right! Who am I kidding?? I've come to accept the fact that its never going to be that way:) . With that being said I'm excited to say that I have been busy crafting my life away. Yes, I got a sewing machine for Christmas! Woo hoo! This is what cloud 9 feels like;) or almost I would assume.

I don't know if its just me but I feel like if I don't have enough projects going I go crazy? Maybe it's cause I fear having nothing to do. Sounds silly, right?

My husband can vouch for me that I always tell him I'm making something for So and So or that I'm going to sell it in my etsy shop but truth is I can't ever part with whatever I'm making. Problem much? Yes.

They purple, yellow, grey fabrics are for a chevron quilt I'm attempting. So far so good! The other picture is of some Christmas gift I made. The aprons turned out so cute and rice bags were an easy accomplishment! Overall I was very satisfied:) hopefully those that got them also loved them.
